02.12.2016    South Korea is the absolute leader amongst the consignees-countries of the Russian coal through JSC “Vostochny Port” terminals for the current year

More than 40% of all coal products, processed by the stevedore company, were shipped to the Republic. Japan is, second, with 25% of the shipments, and China finishes the top three countries with more than 11%. It is interesting to note that this year the volumes of coal product shipments to Malaysia increased significantly.  Countries such as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, etc., that are very familiar to the Russian people due to the ratings of the Travel Industry, are also now among the consignees of the coal products.

In 2016, JSC “Vostochny Port” hosted various delegations monthly, primarily buyers of Russian energy resources from the Asia-Pacific countries. Amongst those delegations were companies who had already conducted business with the stevedoring company and sought to increase supplies following the commissioning of the third stage of the Coal Complex in 2017.

The countries of the Asia-Pacific Region keep making a choice in favor of a specialized stevedoring company. There are numerous reasons why specific stevedoring companies are chosen by the potential partners, key amongst them are seamless and efficient operations. The overall capacity of the equipment at the coal complex of JSC “Vostochny Port” is 3000 tons per hour. There is also prospect of incorporating additional services in the contract, such as coal cargo cleaning from the metal components with the use of powerful magnetic equipment, blending, sorting and bringing energy resources to the export contract fraction (the most popular from 0 to 50mm). The sustainability of an enterprise is often an important factor for foreign companies when choosing a prospective partner.

Within the framework of the business meeting at the Transport Week of 2016, the Managing Director of JSC “Vostochny Port”, Anatoly Lazarev, once again drew attention to the necessity for the Russian companies to be open-minded when working on the world resources market: “Our Company is always open to international cooperation. And if the world market demands additional services to upgrade Russian resources, we will examine all the offers of a similar nature available in the world and then introduce our own high quality and competitive services”.
