21.12.2016 The agreement on investing into the complex construction on production of mineral fertilizers in Nakhodka was signed in the course of the visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan
According to the Russian Federation Ministry for the Far East Development, Vneshneconombank, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and CJSC Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant signed a memorandum of understanding. The document stipulates investments into the complex construction on production of mineral fertilizers in the Nakhodka city district.
Investment in the construction of Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant is estimated at 370.5 billion rubles. This will be the world’s largest high-technology and environmentally friendly complex on production of mineral fertilizers and chemical products. Conversion of natural gas will allow to go to mineral fertilizers from a raw orientation of economy.
Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizers Factory construction project envisages the construction of a gas processing complex which will produce fertilizers and chemical products. The plant is planned to be located on 600-hectare plot of land in the area of Kozmino Bay. In the peak period of the construction up to 12 thousand people are planned to be engaged in the process. The project contributes to such strategic goals as moving from the export of raw materials to the export of higher-value-added products, economic and social development of the Far East, renewal of production capacity in Russia. Its main purpose is to increase gross regional product of Primorsky region by production of gas chemical products for domestic and international supply.
For the National Chemical Group’s mineral fertilizers production factory the contractor plans to use gas from the pipeline to China “Power of Siberia” or the so-called eastern route, which is to deliver Russian natural gas to Asia. In 2015, NCG and Gazprom signed a 20-year contract for the supply of natural gas to the plant as required for operations at full capacity.
After launching the plant into operation, its full capacity will amount 1.1 million tons of ammonia, 2 million tons of urea and 1 million tons of methanol. 1950 jobs will be created here.
